What is the Weaver Wellbeing Retreat?

Weaver Retreat is an intimate, women-only yoga retreat rooted in the wild beauty of Kenya. We blend daily yoga and meditation with authentic Kenyan experiences — from mornings walking in the giraffe sanctuary in Nairobi to afternoons exploring the ancient streets of Lamu. This is not a passive wellness holiday. It is an invitation to move, explore, breathe, and come home to yourself.

We are a small group of 8 to 12 women, which means every experience is personal, every space is held with care, and every moment is intentional.

Part 1: Nairobi — 1–3 November

Venue: Arimuni House, Nairobi — a private nature retreat home next to the Giraffe Sanctuary

Your journey begins in Nairobi at Arimuni House, a beautiful private retreat home nestled next to the Giraffe Sanctuary. Your days here are yours to explore — think nature walks, pottery classes, city exploration, or visiting the elephant orphanage. Mornings and evenings are anchored by yoga and meditation, and your first night together begins with a special opening ceremony to set the tone for the week ahead.

What's included in Nairobi:
  • Welcome and opening ceremony hosted by Emma Coventry
  • Morning yoga sessions
  • Evening grounding yoga

  • Free time for adventure and exploration 
Nairobi Adventure Activities Include:
  • Feeding the giraffes at the Giraffe Centre
  • Visiting the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage
  • Pottery classes at a nearby studio
  • Guided bird walks in the Nairobi green belt
  • Painting classes

All activities are optional and bookable at an additional cost. We handle all logistics so you can simply show up and enjoy.

Part 2: Lamu — 4–8 November

Venue: Private Swahili-style villa with rooftop, Lamu

From Nairobi, we will travel to the magical island of Lamu — one of Kenya's best-kept treasures and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will stay together in a stunning Swahili-style villa with a rooftop. These five days coincide with the Lamu Yoga and Wellbeing Festival (LYFe 2026), an internationally celebrated festival bringing together yogis, healers, and seekers from across the world.

  • Daily yoga sessions at multiple unique venues across Shela village
  • Pranayama and meditation
  • Sound healing
  • Workshops and wellbeing sessions
  • Opening ceremony and fire ritual on Shela Beach
  • Mangrove dhow trips and swimming
  • Dune walk and moon meditation
  • Swahili dinner and sunset dhow trip
  • Closing ceremony at Mkunguni Gardens

Having grown up in Kenya and spent years between Nairobi and the Netherlands, Flo has a deep and personal connection to Kenya's landscapes, culture, and people. With an extensive network and insider knowledge of Kenya's most beautiful destinations, she crafts experiences that seamlessly combine comfort, adventure, and meaning. Throughout the retreat, Flo personally manages all logistics so you can fully relax, explore, and soak it all in.

Yoga Teacher and Retreat Host

With over 500 hours of training in yoga and meditation, Emma has guided women of all ages through practices that bring balance, strength, and self-discovery. Her gift is creating safe, nurturing spaces where everyone can relax, release, and rise. Emma will lead daily yoga sessions, mindfulness practices, and guided workshops designed to help you reconnect with your true self — and with each other.

Who is this retreat for?

This is a women-only retreat for any woman who feels called to rest, explore, and reconnect — whether you are an experienced yogi or have never stepped on a mat. All levels are welcome.

How many people will be on the retreat?

We keep the group intentionally small — between 8 and 12 women — to ensure a personal and intimate experience.

Is this suitable for solo travellers?

Absolutely. We welcome you to join our retreat solo and leave with lifelong friendships.

Do I need to be an experienced yogi?

Not at all. The sessions are designed for all levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners.

What is the Lamu Yoga Festival?

The Lamu Yoga and Wellbeing Festival (LYFe) is an internationally celebrated annual festival held on the island of Lamu. Over five days, it brings together world-class yoga teachers, healers, and practitioners across 12 unique venues in the charming village of Shela. It is one of the most magical wellness events in Africa.

Is travel insurance required?

Yes, we require all participants to have valid travel insurance for the duration of the retreat.
